Controversy about LGBTQ issues has been plaguing the United Methodist Church (UMC) for a while, but recently, the denomination has been hemorrhaging congregations as hundreds of them are leaving due to the UMC becoming ever more accepting of all things queer.
Seemingly unconcerned about the split, the UMC is celebrating Isaac Simmons, an openly gay pastor, as a candidate for ordination. Simmons, also known as Ms. Penny Cost when in his drag queen persona, calls God “nothing but a drag queen with a microphone of biblical proportions.”
But the United Methodists are far from being the only ones affected by the confusion on human sexuality. St. Aiden’s Anglican Church of London, Ontario, recently showed its support of the LGBTQ community by a colorful display of doors painted in rainbow colors with the message “God’s Doors are Open to All.”
While so-called Christianity is swallowed up by the confusion in Babylon’s bottomless pit, God’s church stands unmovable on the solid Word of God’s revealed truth, unashamedly defending human sexuality as defined by the One who designed it in the very beginning.
